Reconciling with MySpace

Someone I talked to last night made me question my decision to completely give up on my MySpace blog. He assumed it must be because the new place I've been putting my blogs receives more views. However, that has not been the case. In just over a year, my MySpace blog has just short of 1800 views, something my newer Blogspot blog could probably never hope to achieve, barring the possibility of divine intervention or me actually writing something decently profound.

Long story short, from now on everything I post will appear both on my MySpace blog and on my Blogspot blog.

I'll start today by copying a few of my better entries from Blogspot onto MySpace. I may even write another blog for both sites today (and if not today, then certainly tomorrow).

I hate to see you pandering to the riffraff over on that other blog. :p

Yes, well that "riffraff" is my best shot at people atually reading what I have to write. :P

I was really and truly joking ... I know I'm probably close to your only readership on this one! :-)

Yes, but you've still managed to leave far more comments on this blog than that blog has total.

My MySpace blog has a total of 13 comments. This one: 64, as of this comment. Assuming half of them were my own, and considering the one from another person I got on my ACT entry, that means you've commented my blogs some 31 times.

:D Do I get a trophy?

You're close to my only commentator, as well. It's encouraging just to know at least one person reads me, even though I'm writing mainly for my own amusement. So I appreciate it.

According to an article in today's New York Times, the Grand Junction/Fruita area has "arguably the best ... mountain biking in the United States."

"People in Fruita — the ones climbing out of full-size pickups in wide-brim cowboy hats and snakeskin boots — tend to call this God’s Country." LOL. Not exactly how I pictured you.

It sounds pretty cool (with cool pictures), even though I'm not a mountain biker.

Hahaha! For the record, people in Grand Junction tend to make fun of people from Fruita for how country/redneck they are. Grand Junction proper is just an average modern Western town, where most people would rather listen to rap and wear baggy clothes than listen to country and wear cowboy hats.

I, of course, knew about all the scenery in the surrounding area, and I know there are countless hiking trails all around. I did not, however, know that mountain biking was so big in Fruita. I knew there was some of it, but not that much. Well, you learn something new every day.

Indeed, those last 3 comments are probably best left dead and buried.

Looks like somebody's turning 17 this week? One final year of being "just a kid"! Hope it's a great one. Happy birthday!

Thanks.

Indeed, I turn 17 this weekend. It brings to mind a song by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus called "Seventeen Ain't So Sweet"...

"Seventeen is just a test / yeah and I would recommend / that you live with no regrets / and even if it seems / like the world is crushing on you / you shouldnt let it hold you down / shouldn't hold you back..."

I like the concept that "Seventeen is just a test." I think I'll write a blog about that on my birthday.

Your fans will look forward to reading it. :)

After all, there's a scream in your voice and I hope it will be heard. ;) And we ain't heard that scream for over 3 weeks.

Those lyrics feel true but maybe too grim. The world won't be "crushing on you" the whole time you're 17. In fact, I hope sometimes the world will look just incredibly beautiful to you, and and full of wonders. But then, hey, I'm a romantic. And definitely an optimist.
